Cusi Ccoyllur Cautiva portrays the imprisoned Inca princess at one of the most sorrowful moments in the Quechua drama Ollantay. Punished for her forbidden love for the warrior Ollantay, Cusi Ccoyllur sits alone within a dark stone chamber, her body partially illuminated by a dramatic beam of light. Her bowed head and withdrawn posture convey grief, isolation, and quiet endurance, while the feather held gently in her hand suggests memory and fragile hope. Loaiza’s deep blue palette intensifies the emotional weight of the scene, contrasted by the radiant light that cuts through the darkness. Cusi Ccoyllur Cautiva is a moving reflection on love, sacrifice, injustice, and resilience.
