Manos al Fuego presents a hand reaching into a mass of luminous, flame-like forms. Painted almost entirely in layered shades of blue, the work transforms fire—traditionally associated with heat and destruction—into something cool, mysterious, and spiritual. The expressive brushwork creates a sense of movement and tension as the hand appears to confront the flames without fear. The title recalls the expression of putting one’s hands into the fire as an act of complete trust or conviction. Through this intimate composition, Loaiza explores courage, vulnerability, and the willingness to risk oneself for a deeply held belief.
