El Azar offers a surreal meditation on chance, mortality, and the uncertainty of human existence. Two formally dressed skeletal figures face one another across a pair of dice, framed within the profile of a larger golden skull. The bold contrast between luminous gold and deep blue gives the intimate composition a striking, symbolic intensity. By combining familiar imagery of games of chance with reminders of death, Loaiza suggests that life itself is governed by forces we cannot fully predict or control. El Azar invites viewers to consider fate, risk, and the fragile boundary between choice and circumstance.
